Clay Storseth fell in love with Christmas as a little boy at his family’s Christmas Eve Gatherings where 100 or so of his Norwegian and Italian relatives shared their holiday traditions and the warmth and generosity of the season. As The Christmas Decorator, Clay has found a way to share the spirit, warmth, and tradition of the holiday season with his extended family of beloved clients for over 15 years.
The creation of Christmas memories of beauty, charm, and delight is the hallmark of his Holiday decorating service. He has brought his passion and talent to private homes, estates, public spaces and corporate and municipal families in Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Pasadena, Newport Beach, the Napa Valley, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Amarillo, Dallas and Manhattan. His family of longstanding clients includes some of the foremost talents in the Music, Film, Theatre, Television and Art Communities, as well as Fortune 100 companies and their top executives and the Peninsula Beverly Hills, the Montage and the Fairmount Miramar Hotels, the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, the Metropolitan Water District, & The Fine Arts Building. Clay designed the Christopher Radko L.A. Showroom for several years, as well as holiday displays for Sax Fifth Avenue, and many other retail stores and wholesale showrooms and stores. As a special events designer he has created and executed his own designs for The Emmy Awards, Entertainment Tonight, People Magazine, The Mondrian Hotel, Hewlett Packard, and The Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Television appearances include “Designer’s Challenge”, “Landscaper’s Challenge”, and “Guru to Go”.
Nick Salamone joined The Christmas Decorator in 2007. Prior to becoming part of the company he was the owner of Off Vine Restaurant in Hollywood for sixteen years from 1991 through 2007. Located in a lovingly restored Arts and Crafts style bungalow on Leland Way, the establishment during Nick’s tenure was voted Los Angeles’ Most Romantic Restaurant by the voters at Citysearch.
For each of those years Nick created the Holiday Décor for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day and Easter. He also executed thousands of floral designs for the restaurant as well as numerous off site special events. He currently applies the expert skills that he learned running a successful restaurant to overseeing our large scale outdoor installations. Over the past 3 seasons he has personally overseen several major installations including Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, Platinum Equity, The Montage Hotel, The Fairmont Hotel, and The Los Angeles Children’s Hospital. He served on the Board of Directors of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for nine years and was a founding member of the Sunset & Vine Business Improvement District.
